Meet Montana

Montana’s journey with horses began at just two years old, when she discovered her mom’s collection of Breyer horses. By age five, she was taking riding lessons, and by eleven, she was working in barns and absorbing everything she could about equine care, training, and barn management. After the loss of her father at age 11, horses became not just a passion but a source of strength and healing.

Throughout her teenage years, Montana held several working student roles at lesson barns, show barns, and lay-up facilities, gaining experience in every aspect of horse care and instruction. At just 20 years old, she began building a successful lesson program at King’s Bridge Farm in Newtown. Over the next 15 years, she grew that program from the ground up while continuing to work with other farms and trainers to deepen her expertise.

In early 2025, an exciting opportunity arose to lease the iconic property at 129 Huntingtown Road, formerly Huntingtown Farm. With the support of its new owners, Montana launched her lifelong dream—Mylestone Stables.

Why “Mylestone”?

A woman riding a brown horse jumps over a white fence during an outdoor equestrian event.

The name honors Montana’s heart horse, Myles, a Thoroughbred she re-started off the track at age six. Myles was her partner for 18 years, accompanying her through life’s most defining chapters—love, loss, marriage, motherhood, and professional growth. Myles passed away in March 2025 at the age of 24, just as Mylestone Stables was becoming a reality.

This new chapter marks a true milestone in Montana’s life—and so the spelling “Mylestone” is both a tribute and a promise: to honor the partnerships that shape us and the quiet lessons that stay with us forever.

“Myles taught me many lessons about training, patience, hard work, sacrifice, and most importantly, the value of a once-in-a-lifetime partnership. We shared countless adventures in training, horse shows, beach and trail rides, and many hunter paces in our 18-year partnership.”
